The action is organized by “Priama diya”, Ukrainian independent students’ union as a part of “International Solidarity Campaign for Olexander Kolchenko”. The solidarity demonstrations have already took place in Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg, Marseille, Biarritz, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, and other cities.
The closest hearing on his case takes place on 9 July in the North Caucasus Military Court.
Lefortovo court of Moscow has extended the arrest of Kolchenko until July 16. He is charged with committing “acts of terrorism” and “belonging to a terrorist community”. The activist also faces preposterous accusations of belonging to “Pravyi Sektor”, Ukrainian right-wing organization.
The activist is threatened to carry a 20-year maximum prison sentence. “I am not a terrorist. I am a citizen of Ukraine,” says Oleksander Kochenko .
Alexander Kolchenko, a Crimean social activist and antifascist, is held in captivity by the Russian authorities. He was arrested on May 16, 2014 in Simferopol. Along with other Crimean activists, he detained as a political hostage in Lefortovo jail in Moscow.
