Australian graffiti artist Guido van Helten artist will transform Kyiv rear walls into mural

The facade of a building near Zoloti Vorota (a historic gateway, located in the very heart of Kyiv) will be turned into an artistic canvas of Guido van Helten. DreamKyiv spoke to the director of CityArt project Geo Leros. “Today we are implementing a new initiative, which would create a high class street art quarter in Kyiv,” he told.

Businessman Konstantin Zhukovsky became the patron of the first piece of art, which will be created world famous artist Guido Van Helten.

“Guido Van Helten will work near the Golden Gate, because I would like to make this quarter Mecca stunning quality street art. Kiev very much needed large-scale art projects to attract tourists,” says Geo Leros.

With the help of spray paints and construction lift Guido Van Helten places gigantic portraits on buildings.For the commercial project he is paid $50-100 thousand. This time he works for free, making city a gift.

According to CityArt, Guido Van Helten will leave one more mural, this time on the wall of a 18-storey home on Sviatoshin (Kyiv). The patron of this project is Sviatoshyn district head, Illia Sahaidak.
