Over the last 24 hours, 980 people got infected with coronavirus in Ukraine. Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said so during the briefing.
"23 people died. In general, coronavirus took the lives of 1,196 Kyivites. And the number of confirmed cases, as of today, makes already 62,620", he stated.
According to the mayor, 70 patients were taken to hospitals during the last 24 hours. 346 people recovered over this period, with the overall number making 21,437.
Meanwhile, the European Union plans to hold the first vaccinations against coronavirus until the end of December as President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen reported.
“The European Commission by now has secured contracts with six companies. The first European citizens might already be vaccinated before the end of December…Member States have to prepare the logistics for the eventual deployment of hundreds of millions of doses,” the message said.
