96 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Chernivtsi region over 24 hours

On April 30, doctors of Chernivtsi region, western Ukraine, reported 96 new cases of Covid-19. Serhiy Osachuk, the head of regional state administration reported that on his Facebook page. 

According to him, 28 of these cases occurred in the region's capital city, Chernivtsi.

The overall number of the infected in this area makes 1,667.

During the day, 12 residents of this region recovered from the disease; their test results proved negative twice.

Osachuk added that since the disease reached Chernivtsi region, the regional lab centre processed 7,027 PCR tests. This particular region remains among the "leaders" in Ukraine, in terms of the amount of Covid-19 patients.

On April 30, the overall number of the infected in Ukraine grew by 540 people. The current official number makes 10,406.

As we reported earlier, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry urged Russia, the occupant state, to provide the protection of life and health of the population in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and annexed Crimea in terms of Covid-19 pandemic.
