90-year-old British Margaret Keenan became the first person all over the world to get Pfizer vaccine against coronavirus, as Reuters reported.
It is specified that Keenan was vaccinated at her local hospital in Coventry, a week before she turns 91.
“I say go for it, go for it because it’s free and it’s the best thing that has ever happened,” Keenan said.
“If I can do it, well, so can you,” she added. She specified that she spent most of the year on her own due to the pandemic and the vaccine provides her with a possibility to meet her family and friends. Keenan added that she was not nervous and discussed plans for her birthday.
Earlier, the UK approved the use of the Pfizer vaccine against coronavirus in the country. Britain has ordered 40 million doses of Pfizer vaccine for the vaccination of 20 million of the population. Soon, about 10 million doses will be supplied to the country, while the first 800,000 doses will arrive in the country in the next few days.
