Thus, since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,510,610 cases of Covid-19 were registered in Ukraine. 3,082,619 (+22,878 in 24 hours) people recovered and were discharged; while 88,986 (+467) patients died from the complications caused by the infection. Besides, 1,349 people were hospitalized.
During the past 24 hours, the majority of the cases were registered in Poltava (716), Donetsk (689), Cherkasy (624) regions, and in Kyiv (1,270).
Earlier, the Ministry of Health said that cases of the coronavirus strain Omicron have not yet been recorded in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Head of the Center for Health Economics of the Kyiv School of Economics Yuri Hanychenko stated that new Covid-19 cases are expected to rise in January 2022 unless a lockdown is introduced, which this year helped delay the coronavirus wave until mid-February.
