As of early July 17, 57,264 cases of Covid-19 infection have been confirmed in Ukraine. Over the last 24 hours, doctors reported another 809 new cases. The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reported that on Friday.
1,456 people (+11 per day) passed away due to the disease since the pandemic reached the country. 29,769 people managed to recover (+838 per day).
Earlier, President Zelensky stated that it was not necessary to hurry up with an extension of the lockdown for more than a month. He said this during a conference call with representatives of the government and law enforcement agencies, the presidential press service reports.
"We do not need to hurry up with the extension of quarantine for a long time, we need to act depending on the development of the situation. Everyone is tired of this lockdown. We need a clear framework for its prolongation so that people have opportunities to live safely, so that business functions properly, so that economy is active. Therefore, we extend it for a month, but not longer," the president said.
In response, the Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov said that a resolution on the changes has already been developed. According to the document, the regions will be divided into four zones - "green", "yellow", "orange" and "red" where there will be clear criteria for restrictions.
