Three pumping stations were disconnected from electricity in Lysychansk, Luhansk region, due to debts for consumed energy. About 80,000 citizens are left without public water supply as the Emergency State Service of Ukraine reported.
“On October 18, in Lysychansk, due to the owed for consumed energy, three pumping stations Lysychanskvodokanal, Bilohorovska and Borovska were disconnected from electricity; due to this fact the central, south parts of Lysychansk, Pryvillia and Novodruzhesk are left without public water supply; totally, about 80.000 citizens,” the message said.
The rescuers brought 152 cubic meters of industrial water for the population.
Earlier, Lysychansk water service company, Luhansk region, was also cut off from power due to the debt for electricity supply.
Besides, UNICEF stated that the escalation of the combat actions in Donbas creates a threat for access to drinking water and support of proper sanitation for 3,2 million people, including 500,000 children.
