Most of the motor pool of the Ukrainian military is outdated, although its composition is refreshed every year; this concerns, first of all, cargo and transport vehicles. Major General Oleksandr Sergiy, head of the Central Vehicle Department of the Armed Forces said this in his commentary for 112 Ukraine TV channel.
’80 percent of our cars are obsolete, the motor pool is outmoded. But it is replenished annually; for one, next year we plan to buy another 1,000 vehicles. Most of these are cargo trucks. All of them will go to combat units, namely the artillery and supply service,’ he said.
Over 2017, the Ukrainian army received some 1,300 combat vehicles, as well as over 22,000 missiles and ammunition. According to the Defense Ministry, the motor pool of the Armed Forces is refreshed and replenished by five percent annually, which meets the respective international standards.
