In Kyiv, a record number of coronavirus cases have been detected over the past 24 hours - 79 cases. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko announced this during an online press conference. The broadcast was provided by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"The number of Kyivites who have been laboratory diagnosed with coronavirus have increased by 69 people. Six of them are medical workers. Unfortunately, there have been two fatal cases in the capital over the last day. Overall, there are 495 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kyiv," Klitschko said.
He noted that 63 new cases had been observed in Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. In total, there are already over 90 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine's Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov stated that 85 medical workers had been infected with COVID-19 during the past 24 hours.
“During the last 24 hours, in the territory of Ukraine, according to the laboratory centers, 325 cases were confirmed by polymerase chain reaction analysis, including 12 children and 85 medical workers,” Stepanov said.
