741 new cases of Covid-19 in Kyiv over 24 hours

Kyiv doctors detected 741 new cases of Covid-19 over the day. This was announced during an online briefing by the press secretary of the Kyiv mayor Vitaly Klichko.

"The virus in the capital is not retreating. Over the past day, an astonishing number of people became infected - 741. 17 people have died. In total, coronavirus has taken lives of 743 residents. Today in the capital there are already 36,768 confirmed cases of Covid-19," the spokeswoman said.

The number of newly infected includes 420 women (19-88 years old), 279 men (19-83), 26 girls (1-16), and 16 boys (1-15). 37 medics are among those who got infected over the last 24 hours.

83 patients were taken to the hospital. The others are on self-isolation under the supervision of doctors.

Most of the new cases were observed in Desnyansky (150), Darnytsky (89) districts and 85 cases - in Pechersky and Dniprovsky.

36,027 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the Ukrainian capital over 24 hours. 5 people passed away during this period; 259 people recovered. 12,639 citizens of Kyiv have overcome the disease since the pandemic began.

As we reported earlier, Ukraine is facing a massive increase in the daily incidence of Covid-19: 8,312 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected over the last 24 hours, which a new anti-record.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 378,729 people have been infected with the coronavirus in the country: 7,041 people have died (+173), and 155,026 (+3394) have managed to recover. As of now, there are 216,662 active cases.
