737 towns and villages in ten regions of Ukraine were left without electricity due to the complication of the weather conditions as at January 18. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported this.

The most difficult situation is in Odesa region, 502 villages and towns are left without electricity there.

'The blackouts of 737 towns and villages in ten regions of Ukraine took place due to the safety system actuation of the power lines. Particularly: 502 in Odesa region, 153 in Cherkasy region, 33 in Chernihiv region, 14 in Poltava region, nine in Kyrovohrad region, nine in Mykolaiv region, eight in Donetsk region, six in Volyn region, two in Sumy region and one in Vinnytsia region', the message said.

Also, it is noted that the works on the restoration of the electricity supply of Izmail, Artsyz in Odesa region continue on January 19.

'The fall of 23 power transmission lines support took place in Izmail district of Odesa region. Izmail (70 000 people) and Artsyz (12 000) were left without electricity, heat and water supply'.

Later it was reported that the electricity, heat and water supply was almost restored in Izmail.

Earlier it was reported that 763 towns and villages were left without electricity due to the bad weather.
