Yesterday 72nd Venice International Film Festival gathered fans of Johnny Depp, who played legendary Boston gangster in the "Black Mass" movie by Scott Cooper. Director performed an effective job of depicting Boston underworld. It was one of the most expected films of the Venice Festival, together with science fiction romantic drama film "Equal" with Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult, Tom Hooper’s "The Danish Girl" with Eddie Redmayne, who stars as Danish artist Einar Mogens Wegener, who became one of the world’s first transgender women, and “A Bigger Splash” with Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton.
Ukraine's film on the big screen of Veniece Festival was presented September 3. Evgeniy Afineevsky’s “Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom” captures the excitement and drama of the social movement that managed to oust president Yanukovych. It shows the Maidan movement, embracing hundreds of thousands gathered in the heart of Kyiv, who met a violent response.
The 72nd Festival takes place from 2 to 12 September 2015. And after screening, the jury will select films for the Festival awards (Golden Lion, Volpi Cup, Grand Jury Prize etc.).
