On July 26, 70 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the Ukrainian capital city. Vitaliy Klitschko, Kyiv mayor posted this on his Telegram channel. 

"Over the last 24 hours, the number of Kyiv residents who appeared to be sick with coronavirus increased by 70 people", reads the post.

Among those who got sick are 25 women aged from 22 to 63; 39 men aged from 19 to 82; three girls from six to nine, and three boys from three to eight.

Eight people are at hospitals, undergoing treatment. The other remain on self-isolation under the control of medics.

The largest number of cases were detected in Desnyansky (13), Darnytsky (12), and Solomyansky (9) districts.

As of early Monday, 7,690 cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Kyiv.

On July 26, the number of people infected with a new type of coronavirus in the world exceeded 16 million, according to data from the American Johns Hopkins University.

According to them, as of this morning, 16 million 48,100 people infected with Covid-19 have been recorded in the world, of which 644,537 people suffered from the disease.

The first place is still the United States, where 4,178,027 people fell ill with coronavirus. The second position is taken by Brazil with 2,394,513 recorded cases.

India closes the top three in terms of the number of infected - Covid-19 was confirmed in 1,385,635 people.
