Last week, doctors confirmed 6,444 new infections with influenza and ARVI in Kyiv. That's 55.6 percent more than the week before that, Kyiv city state administration reports.
"Over the 35th week of 2021, 6,444 cases of flu and ARVI (including the cases of Covid-19) were registered in the capital. The level of morbidity is 71 percent lower than the epidemic threshold. Currently, the rate of sickness makes 217.5 [per 100,000 people]", reads the message.
The 55.6-percent increase of the morbidity level occurred at the cost of both adults and minors. The number of newly infected children made 2,797, and the number of adult patients made 3,647.
346 people were taken to hospital during that week, including 78 children.
Earlier, Ukraine's Chief Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin claimed that a new lockdown in Ukraine cannot be avoided; it is supposed to be imposed in late autumn.
