Between March and May 2020, at least 64 journalists in 24 countries died from coronavirus. The report of the Swiss non-governmental organization Press Emblem Campaign (PEC) stated this information.

The PEC noted that with the outbreak, the organization created an informer to pay tribute to journalists who died from Covid-19 around the world.

"The safety of media workers is particularly at risk in this crisis because they must continue to provide local information and testimony by visiting hospitals, interviewing politicians, economists, scientists, doctors, and patients," the PEC said.

Most journalists died from Covid-19 in Ecuador (12), USA (7), and Brazil (6).

As we reported before, as of May 6, the overall number of Covid-19 patients in Ukraine made 13,184. On May 5, 487 new cases were observed

327 lethal cases have been observed since the epidemic reached Ukraine. 2,097 patients recovered.

Also, in Kyiv, 1,651 cases of coronavirus were confirmed. 68 cases were spotted in a day

“News today is not very optimistic. The number of Kyiv citizens who have a laboratory-confirmed infection with coronavirus increased up to 68 people. Three of them are medics. As for today, there are 1,651 confirmed cases of Covid-19 infection,” Klitschko said.
