63 new cases of Covid-19 observed in Kyiv over 24 hours, - mayor

On April 23, 63 new cases of coronavirus were observed in Kyiv. Vitaliy Klitschko, the city mayor said so at a briefing on Friday, April 24. The briefing was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.

According to Klitschko, the overall number of infected people in the capital made 1,122. Among those infected over the past 24 hours, there are three medics and nine churchmen (five of those serve in Kyiv Pechersk Lavra).

Among the patients, there are 22 women aged from 21 to 82 years old, 35 men aged from 18 to 87 and six boys (6-14 years old). 20 people are hospitalized.

"As of today, 217 are treated in the capital city's medical establishments. Another 57 are at hospitals with suspicion for coronavirus. 39 adults are in tough conditions, two of them are plugged to the artificial lung ventilator devices", the mayor said.

As of early April 24, almost 10 percent of those infected in Kyiv are doctors. 111 medical workers were infected with the virus, and 16 of them are treated in the in-patient departments.
