Law enforcement officers have detained 57 human rights defenders and volunteers, who were to watch today’s Freedom March. This was reported by journalist Konstantin Reutski on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"I think we can already state that Freedom March will not happen. As the police has sealed off the area where the march was going to happen. It is impossible to approach Science Academy, where the meeting place was planned. The road is blocked with numerous police cordons. Even insignificant ways, exits from residential quarters were blocked. Thus, it is impossible to get there," journalist said.

According to him, people, who could not get to Academy of Sciences, gathered near the monument.

"Literally 15 minutes ago policemen attacked the protesters, who were standing peacefully… We saw that police detained several activists during this attack," journalist noted.

He added" "An hour ago, we saw how OMON officers were detaining human rights defenders who were to observe the protest action. They were undergoing instructions… There were 57 people, European citizens, journalists among them."

As it was reported at Viasna human rights center, searches started in the Minsk office. OMON soldiers broke into the premises at about 1 p.m., busting down the door.
