The record-large growth of those infected with Covid-19 is observed in Kyiv. Vitaliy Klitschko, the mayor reported that on October 9.

"It's the first time that the capital saw such a number, 567 over the last 24 hours", reads the message.

Among the newly infected are 330 women aged from 18 to 95; 202 men aged from 19 to 83; 11 girls from 6 to 17, and 24 boys aged from one to 17 years old. 29 doctors got infected, too.

78 patients were taken to the hospital; the others stay on isolation, under medical surveillance.

117 cases were recorded in Desnyansky district, Obolonsky - 83, and Dniprovsky - 71; all of these are northern and northeastern districts of the city.

Currently, the general number of confirmed cases in Kyiv makes 26,463.

Over the last 24 hours, ten people succubmed to the complications caused by the infection; 295 recovered.

As of early October 9, the overall number of the infected in Ukraine reached 250,538. 5,804 new cases are observed over the last 24 hours. 4,779 people died since the pandemic reached Ukraine (+2,417 per 24 hours).
