Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian doctors confirmed 3,983 new cases of Covid-19, including 422 children and 52 healthcare workers. Coronavirus_Info Telegram channel reports it.
1,767 people have been taken to hospitals during this period; 46 patients deceased and 546 recovered. 45,858 tests have been taken.
Most of the confirmed cases have been observed in Kharkiv (610), Odesa (319), Dnipropetrovsk (300), Khmelnytsky (291) and Lviv (246) regions.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine, 2,348,381 people have contracted the disease, 2,230,852 have overcome it, 54,875 have succumbed to it.
Meanwhile, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in its study found the Moderna vaccine to be the most effective against Covid-19 hospitalization.
Researchers calculated Moderna’s vaccine effectiveness against hospitalization was 93 percent, while the effectiveness of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson vaccines was 88 percent and 71 percent, respectively.
“Although these real-world data suggest some variation in levels of protection by vaccine, all FDA-approved or authorized Covid-19 vaccines provide substantial protection against Covid-19 hospitalization,” the report said.
