384 settlements de-energized in Ukraine due to bad weather

384 Ukrainian settlements remain without electricity because of the strong wind and rain. This is stated in the message of the Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine.

"June 29-30, as a result of the complication of weather conditions (thunderstorms, wind gusts), due to the operation of the power transmission line protection system, 384 settlements in 10 regions were de-energized," the report said.

So, the settlements in Dnepropetrovsk (157), Kyiv (104), Vinnytsia (33), Poltava (26), Kirovograd (15), Zaporizhzhya (14), Kherson (12), Cherkassy (10), Mykolaiv (8) and Luhansk (5) regions are now without electricity.

At present, brigades of district energy services are involved in the restoration of power supply.

We reported that on Saturday, June 30, the deterioration in weather conditions in Ukraine is expected, as Ukraine’s Emergency Service reports.

“On June 30, thunderstorms are expected in some regions, hailstorms and 15-20 m/s gusts are expected in central and eastern parts, rainstorms – in the west of the country,” the message says.

The weather forecast tells there will be thunderstorms, hailstorms and 15-20 m/s gusts in most of the central regions. Rainstorm is expected in Odesa region.
