Ecological disaster is looming in Kamianske town, - a few hours ago about 300 tons of fuel oil spilled in the Dnieper River, writes local daily Sobitie.
This happened due to the flooding of a barge with tap in local river port. It was reported that oil spread on the water surface downstream. This information was confirmed by the director of the port Serhii Burhan.
It had long been known about emergency state structures, but necessary actions have not been taken, the message says.
The leak of tap installation’s pontoon was discovered in August 2016. The tap was out of service in 2006, and its planned repairs have not been conducted since 2003.
Local authorities have not yet commented the situation.
Earlier it was reported that Trilateral Contact Group positively evaluated restoration of water supply in Donbas. Supply was made possible after the payment of the debt for the consumed water.
