30 car accidents occurred in Kyiv due to the deterioration of weather conditions. One person died, one more got injured, the press office of the National Police in Kyiv reports.
‘30 car accidents occurred, with the deterioration of weather conditions on the roads of Kyiv region, one died, another injured,’ reads the message.
Drivers are urged to observe the traffic safety regulations, in particular, to keep a distance from the next going car, and not to use their personal cars without a particular need.
‘We ask pedestrians to step on a roadway carefully and to cross roads in allowed for it places. In addition, we advise you to wear retroreflective elements on your clothes. This will reduce the risk of getting into danger on roads,’ the Police advised.
Press Secretary of State Emergency Service of Ukraine Viktoria Ruban told about the situation on the roads as of 5 p.m.
‘Currently, all roads are clean. Bad weather is only approaching Kyiv, the road clearance equipment works though'.
‘We received cautions about sufficient worsening of weather conditions, Kyiv is closed for heavy transport. Besides, it was decided to restrict entry directly to Kyiv region for trucks. All equipment that we possess is working on the roads,’ Viktoria Ruban said.
