Over the last 24 hours, 2,958 new cases of Covid-19 were observed in Ukraine. National Security and Defense Council reported that on September 16.
Since the epidemic reached Ukraine, doctors have confirmed 162,660 cases. 3,340 of those deceased (+76 over the last 24 hours), 72,324 recovered (+1,514).
As for early September 16, at least 10 Hasidim pilgrims who arrived in Uman for celebration of Rosh Hashanah appeared to be sick with coronavirus.
As of morning, September 15, 690 Hasidim trying to enter Ukraine stayed at the border with Belarus. The Border Guard Service expected the arrival of a few more thousands of pilgrims, as the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.
“A few more thousands of foreigners might arrive at the Belarusian-Ukrainian border,” the message said.
Thus, the Border Guard Service predicted the arrival of up to 1,000 people at the border in Chernihiv region, up to 700 people in the Zhytomyr region, up to 1,500 people in the Volyn region. Moreover, it is expected that three charter flights would arrive in Minsk – about 600 foreigners.
The border service noted that the situation on the border with Belarus is controlled.
