Currently, there are 2,700 foreign citizens who have the official status of refugees from war. Maksym Sokolyuk, the Head of State Migration Service of Ukraine said that as quoted by Interfax Ukraine news agency.

‘These people come from various countries – Somalia, Afghanistan, Syria, et cetera. If you compare the process of status confirmation for refugees and internally displaced persons, you’ll see these procedures take various amount of time. Our law framework contains best European practices, but the procedure cannot take a single hour or a single week,’ Sokolyuk said.
