The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the world exceeded 21.29 million; over the last 24 hours, the number increased by more than 267,000. According to the WHO data released on Sunday, the overall number of lethal outcomes increased by almost 6,000, making 761,000 in total.
The WHO data only takes into account officially confirmed cases of infection and death, provided by governments.
Most of the cases of infection with coronavirus is observed in the Americas (11.4 million). Over the last 24 hours, the number of infected increased by 149,645. 3,842 deceased, making the overall number of victims 414,326.
In Europe, 19,888 new cases were confirmed over 24 hours. 410 people passed away. The overall number of infected here made 3.7 million; 214,092 have died since the beginning of the pandemic.
Southeastern Asia is ranked third, with the overall number of infected reaching three million people. 59,875 lethal cases were recorded since the pandemic began. 1,031 people passed away over the last 24 hours; the number of infected increased by 69,064.
