As of early September 9, Ukrainian medics confirmed 143,030 cases of coronavirus in this country - since the epidemic reached the country. 2,551 of those were detected over the last 24 hours, National Security and Defense Council reports.
The overall number of those who deceased now makes 2,979 (+45 over the last 24 hours); at that, 63,546 patients recovered, as repeated lab tests did not reveal any traces of the virus in their bodies.
Most of the cases are observed in Kyiv (310), Kharkiv region (291) and Ternopil region (244).
Earlier, the Health Ministry of Russia released to the civil circulation the first batch of Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus, as RBC reported.
“The first batch of the vaccine for prevention of the new coronavirus infection Gam-COVID-Vac (Sputnik V), developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Health Ministry of Russia, passed all necessary trials on quality in the laboratories of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare and released to the civil circulation,” the ministry informed.
According to the Health Ministry, residens of various regions of the country should receive the first batches of the vaccine soon.
