25 armed men detained in hotel in Odesa

A police task force in Odesa detained a group of armed men who stopped at a local hotel. Ivan Ishchenko, the Head of the Preventative Action Department of the National Police in Odesa region posted this on Facebook

'It took law enforcers less than half an hour to check the information on 25 armed men who stayed at a local hotel in Odesa. The police reacted in no time. All 'guests' of Yuzhnaya Palmira hotel were identified. The police operatives are now finding out what their plans were', Ishchenko said.    

The police identified all perpetrators and seized all weapons.

In August, a local resident of Dnipro city was detained for keeping a large stash of weapons in his garage. The police reported this after the servicemen checked the garage and seized the guns and ammunition. The 40-year-old man kept 65 hand grenades, over 1,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, two machineguns, two pistols, two anti-tank grenade launchers, a signal rocket and explosives. The owner was detained and notified of suspicion in committing of a crime foreseen by the respective article of the Criminal Code'
