249 groups of illegal migrants uncovered in Ukraine over last year

The police officers together with Migration Service of Ukraine and border guards uncovered 249 groups of illegal migrants, 1,278 foreigners belonged there. The press service of the National Police reports this.

According to Vyacheslav Abroskin, the First Deputy of the Head of Ukraine's National Police, the illegal migration is a rather lucrative business, because the illegal transit of one person through the border of Ukraine costs over $ 3,000.

He outlined that the necessity of strengthening of cooperation with the State Migration Service on establishing of the legality of foreigners’ stay in Ukraine – persons with criminal records, as well as carrying out the verifications of the documents for the right on temporary or permanent residence in the country.

“We want to strengthen the control and the restrictions of entering our country for foreigners, who arrive in Ukraine with criminal intentions or with intentions to destabilize the situation in the country,” Abroskin emphasized.

The Deputy of the National Police wrote on Facebook that foreign culprits have committed 2775 offenses over 2018; 632 of them were Russian citizens, 608 were from Georgia, 443 from Azerbaijan, and 331 from Moldova.  

430 offenses have been committed over 2 months of 2019, 121 by citizens of Azerbaijan, 78 by the Russians, and 40 by Moldovian citizens.
