During the anti-terrorist operation in Donbas (from April 2014 to April 30, 2018) 24 employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) were killed. This was reported in the press center of the SBU.
"During the four years of the Anti-Terrorist Operation, the Service lost 24 members of its staff, but prevented dozens of terrorist acts against civilians, gained experience in successfully countering the intelligence of Russian special services, and gathered irrefutable evidence for the international community regarding Russia's military aggression on the territory of Ukraine," reads the message.
Earlier the General Staff of the Armed Forces informed that since the beginning of the operation until October 2017, combat losses amounted to 10,710 military, of which 2 378 dead.
Also in the UN report it was stated that from the outbreak of hostilities in the east of Ukraine, at least 2 523 civilians were killed. Then it was reported that among the dead there were 1,399 men, 837 women, 91 boys, 47 girls, and 149 people, whose gender could not be established. In particular, 298 civilians killed in the MH17catastrophe in 2014 were taken into account.
We recall, today (April 30), President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, by his decree, put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the completion of the anti-terrorist operation and handed over control to the commander of the United forces, General Serhiy Nayev. Later, Poroshenko signed a decree on the beginning of the operation of the united forces.
