2,3 thousand km of roads of local importance are expected to be built in Ukraine this year. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia). The broadcast was provided by 112 Ukraine TV Channel.
"A very important issue is that absolutely all people feel 100% about, it is local roads. We aim to build 2,5 thousand km of roads of local importance this year," Zelensky said.
According to the President, record 897,2 million dollars have been allocated for this purpose, which is 70% more than spent in 2019. In general, such large-scale construction of roads will create new jobs for about 12 thousand people.
As we reported earlier, Head of State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubakov wrote on his Facebook page that six thousand kilometers of roads should be upgraded this year. 3,4 billion dollars have been raised for the execution of this task.
"The goal is more than 6,000 km of upgraded roads. Record 3,4 billion dollars of attracted funds. And a new management policy. All this will help make a turning point this year," he wrote.
