The new strain of coronavirus initially observed in the UK has already been detected in 22 European countries. Hans Kluge, the Head of European Bureau of the WHO reported that as quoted by Deutsche Welle.
According to the Organization, the vaccines that have been certified for use against Covid-19, are effective against the sickness's new strain, too. At that, Kluge still urged these countries to boost measures against the new kind of the virus.
On January 6, the WHO claimed that the VOC-202012/01, first observed in Great Britian has been already detected in 41 countries and territories. This new strain is believed to be more contagious than the common coronavirus.
"We received a letter from COVAX about the possibility of supplying the country with m-RNA vaccines in the near future," the message says.
Lyashko did not specify when exactly the delivery of vaccines would begin.
