20 cities of Ukraine held the campaign of employees of art industry #stopculturalquarantine. The hundreds of spotlights hit the sky over large cities and a lot of photos were published on social networks.
“If they cannot hear us, they will see us” is the motto of the representatives of the entertainment industry. The night sky was lighted up by a few hundreds of spotlights.
Thus, they want to attract the attention of the authorities and society to the art industry. According to the organizers of the campaign, the lockdown left without work over 250,000 people from the entertainment sphere: mostly entertainers, musicians and actors.
“The losses of our industry is about 700 million hryvnia ($26,2 million) as for now. They will grow. It is not clear when it will stop,” employee of the company of ticket counters Vadym Chernetsky said.
According to the founder of one of the festivals Dmytro Sadovnikov, the partakers of the campaign hope that people will pay attention to the industry. “250,000 people, working in the industry, will start to understand what to expect. We expect that the industry will start to get at least some support from the state, at least in reducing the tax burden,” he said.
As we reported, on April 29, near the Cabinet of Minister in Kyiv, the protest of entrepreneurs took place. They demanded to end the lockdown on May 1.
