The First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Eka Zguladze, speaking to BBC-Ukraine, said that the worldwide law enforcement agencies tend to be masculine, but as shown by the experience, women are more effective in improving the law enforcement system. "Women always demand more proofs than men do. France, USA, Italy faces this problem. But the experience of all the countries shows that women's participation is very important, they improve police work. Women can do the police work not worse, and even better than men".
The expert Council for reforming the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Anastasia Leukhina, said in her blog that the number of women among police officers has quadrupled. "When we were selecting candidates, 20% of the applicants were women. At the end of 2013, according to official statistics, the number of women working for patrol, was 5%".
