58 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in the Ukrainian capital over 24 hours. One person died. As for today, there are 2,710 confirmed cases in the city, as 112 Ukraine TV channel reported, citing Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.
Thus, 24 women at the age of 19 up to 81, two 8-year-old and 17-year-old girls, 29 men at the age of 18 up to 81, and three nine, 15 and 16-year-old boys are among the infected. Besides, there are 16 medics among the infected.
12 patients were hospitalized. Others stay in self-isolation under the control of the doctors. 33 people recovered. Totally, 393 Kyiv citizens recovered since the beginning of the epidemic.
“The leaders in the number of new cases Darnytsia district – 12 patients, Dniprovsky district – 10 and Desnyansky – eight patients,” Klitschko noted.
Kyiv Mayor noted that the infants and small children recover from the coronavirus longest. Totally, about 9% of children from the total amount of infected have recovered.
“I will cite the statistics of Kyiv citizens who overcame coronavirus. The longest recovery is needed by infants and small children. As for today, about 9% of children recovered since the beginning of the epidemic. Usually, it takes a month for them to recover,” Klitschko noted.
According to the mayor, the highest rate of recovered people is among people at the age of 30-49. 16% of them recovered. However, almost 39% of infected patients are at this age rate. People at the age of over 65 year needs more time for recovery. Over 13% of them recovered. However, the majority of the lethal cases spotted among elder people.
As of 9:00 a.m. on May 26, 21,584 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Ukraine: 339 new cases have been registered over the last 24 hours. 644 deaths have been recorded and 7,575 patients have recovered.
