198 people infected with measles in Lviv

As of 16:00 on Feb. 5, 198 people were infected with measles in Lviv, as Mayor of the city Andriy Sadovyi said, Ukrainian news reports.

According to Sadovyi, as of Feb. 2, 7.934 people were vaccinated against measles in Lviv. The Directorate of healthcare of Lviv city council issued an order on measures intended to localize the outbreak of measles in Lviv. In particular, visiting patients in ICUs and hospitals was prohibited.

Moreover, according to the regional laboratory centre of the Ministry of Health, 324 people were infected with Measles in Zaporizhia region, as of Feb. 5. In October-December 2017, there were 202 cases of measles infection in the region, while since the beginning of 2018 - 122. 

As we reported earlier, there’s measles outbreak in Ukraine. Since the beginning of 2018, almost 3,000 Ukrainians were infected with measles. Four died, two of them were kids. In 2017, the level of vaccination against measles has doubled compared to 2016.
