The Ukrainian law enforcers have exposed 186 cases of the human trafficking during six months of 2018. Artem Kryshchenko, the Head of Department for Fight against Human Trafficking claimed as its press service reported.
The majority of the cases, 108 of them, are the sexual exploitation.
"At the moment 156 people, including 91 women, 49 men and 9 under-age and 7 young children, recognized as the victims," Kryshchenko said.
According to him, 144 cases of the human trafficking, including 94 sexual exploitation cases, were spotted in 2016.
"Every year the number of the exposed cases of the human trafficking increases, particularly, the sexual exploitation cases. However, I will note: it does not point to the growth of the criminal in this sphere, it shows that we operatively expose such crimes," he noted.
As we reported 28 percent of trafficked persons in the world are minors, according to the UNICEF.
Also, after a number of searches in four states across Germany, the law enforcers busted and detained a group of human traffickers. In Hamburg, the police found 42 illegal migrants. The three key suspects, two Germans and one Russian, were arrested in Hamburg on May 7. There are five more suspects, including Ukrainian citizens.
