For the third day in a row, Ukraine has recorded a record number of people infected with coronavirus. So, over the past day, 1,847 new cases of infection have been identified. This is evidenced by the data of the National Security Council of Ukraine (NSDC).
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 89,719 people have fallen ill in the country, 2044 have died. In the last day alone, 33 people with a diagnosis of Covid-19 have died. 47 430 people recovered.
As we reported before, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the country is on the verge of a second wave, so it is worth paying more attention to security measures and lockdown rules.
"The head of state noted that on August 13, 1732 citizens were confirmed to have coronavirus disease in Ukraine. Such figures and the number of hospitalized people indicate that the country is on the verge of a second wave," the statement said.
