17,000 police officers to maintain order on Christmas, - National Police

It is expected that 4.6 million people will take part in public events all over the country

All units of the National Police are working in an enhanced mode during the New Year and Christmas feasts, more than 17,000 officers will be on service during the celebration of Christmas. Vyacheslav Abroskin, First Deputy Head of the National Police claimed this at the working meeting, reports the General Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

According to him, 4.6 million people will take part in public events all over the country. 

Abroskin stressed that special attention will be paid to ensuring security on the night of January 7, when worship services on the occasion of Christmas will be held in more than 14,000 shrines across all regions of the country.

The most numerous religious services are expected in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Dnepropetrovsk regions. 

‘Additionally, on Christmas night on the roads and streets of settlements, the rule of law will be provided by about 6,000 policemen and national guardsmen,’ reads the message.
