1.7 million doses of vaccine against coronavirus are supposed to be delivered in Ukraine by late May. Ukraine's Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov reported that on air of Ukraine 24 TV channel, as quoted by RBC-Ukraine.
"We're supposed to get the first batch of vaccines (260,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine and 117,000 doses of Pfizer) until April 15. In general, by the end of May, we've got to receive 1.7 million doses of vaccines", Stepanov said.
He added that the COVAX program foresees that in future, Ukraine is supposed to get the general amount of eight million doses of vaccine.
In early March, it appeared that Ukraine joined the list of first countries that gained access to vaccines against coronavirus under the COVAX program.
Earlier, we reported that AstraZeneca vaccine has officially changed its name to Vaxzevria as the European Medicines Agency (EMA) reported.
“The vaccine against coronavirus AstraZeneca got the new name – Vaxzevria,” the message said.
The pack, marking and form of the drug have also changed but the formula of the vaccine was not changed.
As we reported, AstraZeneca confirmed the effectiveness of its Covid-19 vaccine at 76%, based on the results of recent studies, including those conducted in the United States.
