168 households and 53 living houses were flooded in 17 localities of Ivano-Frankivsk region, western Ukraine. The State Emergencies Service of Ukraine reported that May 31.
The trouble is caused by to the heavy rains that were observed in the area on May 29 and 30; currently, the water level in the local rivers is dropping.
The State Emergencies Service crews reached the troublesome locations 180 times; 90 people and 10 cars were evacuated during the search and rescue works. Over 48,919 cubic meters of water were pumped out. 73 members of the Service crews, 10 water pumps, one boat and 19 vehicles were involved in the works over the said period.
Previously, on May 20-23, 1,721 houses and 6,137 households in 78 inhabited localities ended up in the flooded zone in Ivano-Frankivsk region, suffering various consequences.
Crews of the State Emergencies Service reached the emergency sites 138 times and evacuated 76 people, 12 of them children. 586 people were evacuated from the flooded roadways. 34,778 cubic meters of water were pumped out.
In Zakapattya, the emergency crews reported 112 houses, 610 households and 1,988 hectares of agricultural areas suffering the consequences of powerful floods on May 20-23.
