On May 25, 16,387 people received their shots against coronavirus. Press office of Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry reported that on Wednesday morning.

987,193 people got inoculated in Ukraine since the beginning of the inoculation campaign; 97,391 of them have successfully completed the vaccination course. Two people received one of their doses abroad.

As of May 26, 590,133 people are on the waiting list, waiting for their shots.

In early May, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the majority of citizens should complete the vaccination course before the Independence Day; so, the vaccination rate should be increased.

As we reported, the European Commission decided to launch digital vaccination certificates from July 1. The document is free of charge, secure and accessible to all. It will cover vaccination, test and recovery offering different options to the citizens.

After the European Commission reaches an agreement on the implementation of these certificates, it is necessary that the European Parliament and the Council of Europe formally adopt a corresponding resolution. The adopted decree should enter into force on July 1, 2021, with a six-week period for the issuance of Covid certificates to countries that need additional time.
