8,416 new cases of coronavirus have been observed in Ukraine over the last 24 hours. At the same time, almost twice as many patients have recovered - 16,150 people. This was announced by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov on his Facebook page.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine, 909,082 people have been infected, 15,480 have died (+233) day), and 522,868 (+16,150) have managed to recover. As of now, 386,214 patients are in the active stage of coronavirus disease.

Most new cases were recorded in the city of Kyiv (1559), Odesa (830), Cherkasy (665), Zaporizhia (599), and Poltava (575) regions. 1,479 people were hospitalized.

As we reported earlier, another strengthening of the current quarantine restrictions in Ukraine is set for December 19. The relevant list of restrictions was introduced by the Cabinet of Ministers.

It was also noted that all other previously approved quarantine measures would remain in force.

Starting from January 8, Ukraine will impose a three-week lockdown.
