Over the last 24 hours, June 10, Ukrainian doctors observed 1,603 new cases of coronavirus. That included 75 children and 72 doctors. Press department of Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry reported that on Friday morning.
762 people were hospitalized; 70 died from complications caused by the disease, and 5,583 recovered.
Earlier, we cited the World Health Organization, which claims that a new, even more contagious Indian strain of coronavirus could spread in Europe soon. Hans Kluge, the WHO European regional bureau director said so. This particular strain already replaced other strains in a number of countries.
"We've seen this before. Last summer, the cases of disease gradually increased in the younger age groups, then they moved to older age groups, which led to a destructive outbreak, lockdown and lots of deaths in autumn and winter 2020", Kluge said.
The new mutation of the disease may affect even those with the immunity from it.
