1,500 police officers injured in public events in 2017

1,500 police officers were injured in public events in Ukraine in 2017, according to the information given on the Facebook page of the National Police.

“Only in last year, almost 1,500 police officers were injured. In particular, such incidents happened during securing the public order as a part of court hearings. Unfortunately, they were often accompanied and ended up with injuring or wounding police officers,” it is said.

The police reminded that last case like this happened on Feb. 15 near the Solomiansky court of Kyiv. Then, a man wounded a police officer. He turned out to be an ex-soldier of Donbas battalion who shot with an honorary weapon which he had received as an award from the Interior Ministry.
