130 cases of human trafficking have already been identified in Ukraine in the first half of 2021. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yekateryna Pavlichenko, as Ukrinform reported.
"According to data from the National Police, 130 cases of human trafficking have already been revealed in the first half of this year," Pavlichenko said.
She noted that the majority of detected cases of human trafficking are connected with the involvement in criminal activities, in second and third places are the labor and sexual exploitation of Ukrainians.
The head of the National Police department that deals with migration Serhiy Panteleyev noted that this year the units of the National Police managed to find and liquidate 26 organized crime groups regarding human trafficking, which included 139 participants.
“In the fight against human trafficking, we are dealing with two issues: it is a fight against human trafficking, which begins and ends in the territory of our country, this is more about labor and sexual exploitation. Secondly, there is a fight against human trafficking, which begins on the territory of our country ending on the territory of other countries," he said.
