Since the beginning of the month, 13 citizens fell ill with measles; ten of them are children. Serhiy Chumak, the head of Kyiv City Healthcare Lab Centre said that in his exclusive commentary for 112 Ukraine TV channel.
'Measles has been advancing, and we get the reports of two or three new cases daily. Talking about February, we have already had 13 cases, in ten of these the patients are children,' he said.
According to him, 71 percent of the patients were children at schools and kindergartens.
Since the beginning of 2018, almost 3,000 Ukrainians were infected with measles. Three died, two of them were kids.
Over the past week, most of the cases were reported in western Ukrainian regions.
