12 Ukrainians to be deported from Estonia

Twelve Ukrainian farm forkers will be deported from Estonia for breaching the rules of self-isolation during the Covid-19 quarantine in this country. ERR reported this on August 13.

"12 Ukrainian workers who biolated the quarantine should leave the country", reads the message.

150 workers came to Estonia from Ukraine on July 21; local farmers paid for the transfer. The workers were tested for coronavirus in the airport on the arrival. Then, they were put into quarantine, and the government decided to check if they obeyed the self-isolation mode.

After checks, it appeared that some workers at local farms breached the self-isolation rules, the government says.

Interior Minister Mart Helme claimed that the wrongdoers should be punished by the word of the law. Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu added that the Ukrainians who breached the self-isolation have to be kicked out of the country.

Accoprding to regulations, Ukrainians are supposed to leave Estonia my Friday midnight.

According to worldometers, there are 2,174 cases of Covid-19 in Estonia, 63 of those appeared lethal.
