In Italy, the number of deaths from the COVID-2019 coronavirus reached 12. 374 people were infected, four of whom were children. The local news agency of ANSA reports this information.

The last victim of the virus is a 70-year-old man from Emilia Romagna, a citizen of Lombardy who previously had a chronic illness.

Four children, infected with coronavirus, are also in Lombardy: a 4-year-old girl, two 10-year-old and 15-year-old boys.

In total, 374 people are infected in Italy in 23 provinces of the country in the regions of Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Piedmont, Tuscany, Trentino-Alto Adige, Liguria, Sicily, Marche, and Lazio.

Franco Locatelli, Director of the Italian High Health Council, said that coronavirus tests will now be available only to those citizens who have developed symptoms of CVID-2019. Now 95% of the samples showed a negative result.

From February 17 to February 23, 217,459 people fell ill with the flu, of which 61% were children. Non-epidemic level of influenza activity persists only in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhya regions, and in Kyiv.
