In Ukraine, 1,199 new cases of coronavirus disease Covid-19 were recorded - this is a new anti-record for the number of new patients per day, as the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) reported.
August 9 (as of 9 am), 80,949 laboratory-confirmed cases of Covid-19 were revealed in Ukraine, of which 1,897 were lethal, while 43,972 patients recovered.
As we reported before, the Ukrainian government intended to create a system for tracking contacts of persons infected with the coronavirus.
"The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and other responsible bodies must create an effective system for tracking contacts of people who have become ill with Covid-19. These epidemiological investigations must be systematic, with strict control over self-isolation. This would allow us to respond more quickly and break the chains of diseases," says the message.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to mobilize to prevent the second wave of Covid-19. Zelensky instructed Prime Minister Shmygal to urgently conduct a comprehensive assessment of the readiness of hospitals to provide care to patients, to provide institutions with all the necessary equipment.
